Han Kang, who has etched the loneliness and sorrow of human life, and the essential truths and emotions encountered at the boundary between life and death, with her uniquely firm and poetic prose, has published her first poetry collection, 『Evening in a Drawer』.

This year marks Han Kang's 20th year since her literary debut. From the poems she wrote and published between releasing eight novels, she selected 60 to compile this collection. Just glancing at the titles of the poem series, such as "Sketch of an Evening," "Song Heard at Dawn," "Bleeding Eyes," and "Winter Beyond the Mirror," is enough to sense the emotional tone of Han Kang's poetry collection, which is filled with voices that transparently confront existence and language, becoming clearer in darkness and silence.

In the poetry collection 『Evening in a Drawer』, there are bleeding words that strive to approximate the painting of silence. And there is a poet who intensely gazes at the heart of these bleeding words, seeking to confirm humanity's existence as a soul. She desires to reach the initial language that salvaged shining truth from the world of silence and darkness.
